We hope everyone is enjoying a safe and happy summer. It was so nice to finally see the sun starting to shine again after what seemed like weeks and weeks of rain and cloudy skies. As the summer flies by it is time to start discussing the upcoming fall season.

Before we do that, however, a big congratulations goes to the 2015 Sarasota American 11-12 All-Star team! The team won both the District 16 and Sectional titles and went on to compete at the State Tournament in Tallahassee. They had an excellent showing going 2-1 and statistically leading their pool. Although they did not advance onto Warner Robbins, Ga for the Eastern Regionals, they represented Sarasota Little League with pride and some excellent baseball. Congratulations to Coach Al Infantino and all his players, coaches and families.

Board of Directors Elections and Annual Board Meeting

Annual Board meeting and elections will be held at

Geckos on Clark Rd at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3

We will be voting on the revised bylaws and electing a new board for 2016. There needs to be a volunteer majority so all volunteers are encouraged to attend. This is important to ensure the success of our Little league.

There will be food provided.

Opening Day

Sept. 26

Registration should be done in person at the League Office located on the second floor at the Twin Lakes Field complex. You may sign up for a tryout time at the time of registration. All Managers and Coaches planning on volunteering for the Fall 2015 season, please turn in your applications as early as possible. This will allow us to better gauge our needs for both coaches and training opportunities. The link to the application is located on the bottom right hand side of this page.

As always, we take a minute to say thanks to the players, parents, sponsors and volunteers that make our league possible. Remember, the best place to find timely, day-to-day updates is on our website at www.srqlittleleague.com. Please feel free to let us know any suggestions or feedback you might have by clicking on the “Contact Us” link on our homepage. We are looking forward to a great fall season complete with a beautifully re-done infield on Field 2!
